Arnessk was the planet where John Crichton, Rygel and Chiana were reunited with Ka D'Argo, Jool and Noranti after they had gone their separate ways. The planet usually had an intense magnetic field but for short periods of time it could be explored. There seemed to be some connection between Arnessk, Earth, Sebaceans, and Interions. The planet was populated by the Eidelons, a species that has been asleep for 12,000 cycles and who have the ability to facilitate peace between warring factions.
During the Peacekeeper/Scarran War, Moya returned to Arnessk seeking the help of the ancient Eidelons in helping end the destructive war. Shortly after convincing them that the galaxy's surviving Eidelons were their descendants, a Scarran warship arrived, which promptly attacked and destroyed the planet's major temple. The result of this was the loss of an Eidelon from Qujaga, Jool, and the loss of thousands of priests. One priest, Yondalao was saved. This priest was brought to Moya to teach the people of Qujaga the power to make peace but when he was killed in the Decimator, he transferred his abilities to Stark so that the power was not lost.
