Clorium was a common element, one of the six forbidden cargoes for Leviathans. It was a forbidden cargo because it numbed Leviathans.
It was used to help Moya with the pain after a Peacekeeper tracking device was removed. John Crichton and the rest of Moya's crew discovered some on Denea where the Deneans knew it as "onlux" and used it as a seasoning like salt. ("I, E.T.")
