EVA was an Earth initialism for extra-vehicular activity, meaning any activity done outside a spacecraft by an astronaut.

Jack Crichton mentioned to his son that he had gotten rattlers in the stomach on his first EVA and the first time he walked on the moon, implying that he had done both more than once.[1]

The crew of Moya conducted several EVAs at various times.
