The International Aeronautics and Space Administration (IASA) is an alliance of space agencies of many nations. As the name may suggest, it is an international version of the United States' National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and may have even absorbed much (if not all) of NASA's assets, including personnel. This includes Jack Crichton, a NASA astronaut who was in rotation during the Challenger event.
The agency was responsible for John Crichton's ill-fated Farscape project and had facilities in Australia.
Trivia
The IASA is also featured in the movie Event Horizon, albeit no connection exists with the Farscape series.
