The Proprietor was a merchant of unknown species who worked on a commerce planet. Its language consisted of a series of hisses and roars.

When Moya visited the commerce planet shortly after escaping Crais, Rygel negotiated with it in order to acquire barrels of much needed iriscentant fluid. After haggling for a while, Rygel moved on to other items that the Proprietor was selling. This sale was cut short by Ka D'Argo pulling Rygel away, much to the Proprietor's frustration. ("Premiere")

Background information[]

  • The Proprietor of the shop was built at the wrong scale by accident by the Creature Shop and ended up taking up the entire set. According to Brian Henson, it took almost three hours to wedge the puppet into place. (DVD commentary)
  • The puppet took three people to run it, and the first time it was tested, the three puppeteers climbed inside, and the entire beast pitched forward onto its face. Fortunately, no damage was done. (Farscape: The Illustrated Companion)
