Bio
Rylani Jeema Dellos was a Sebacean woman and the unwilling mother of Scorpius.
Rylani was born on the world of New Heather. Many cycles before John Crichton's arrival in the Uncharted Territories, Rylani and her husband Ghebb were aboard a Leviathan of Sebacean pioneers with plans to start a colony on the planet Motak IV in the Uncharted Territories. Outside of the protection of Peacekeepers, the ship was attacked by Scarrans. Everyone aboard was killed except for Rylani and Ghebb who managed to escape on a transport pod.
They were able to reach their destination planet in the pod and land. With no companions but each other, few supplies, and the possible threat of Scarrans, Rylani and Ghebb were unsure of their survival. Ghebb, however, hoped to make the best of their dire situation, comparing their hard conditions to those of true pioneers.
It wasn't long, however, before even this possibly hopeful future was shattered as the Scarrans arrived, having tracked the pod down. A party of at least one Scarran boarded the ship, easily shrugging off pulse pistol fire from Ghebb before killing him and taking Rylani prisoner.
Rylani probably spent at least several months in Scarran captivity. The Scarrans selected her to be part of an ongoing experiment to cross breed their species with Sebaceans. To this end, a Scarran named Wolesh, the very Scarran who had killed Ghebb and kidnapped Rylani, forcibly impregnated her with the child who would grow up to be Scorpius. She was the only subject among 90 others in the experiment in which the child survived.
According to Scorpius' brutal "foster mother" Tauza, the gestation shattered Rylani's psyche and she pled for death. This would finally come to pass during Scorpius' birth.
It was for her as well as his own treatment at their hands that Scorpius hated the Scarrans.
