The Scarran Heirarchy is the governing body for the ever-expanding empire of the Scarrans.
Scarran culture[]
Very little is known of Scarran culture other than this - Scarrans value strength above all else. They despise those whom they perceive as weak, and have conquered numerous races in an effort to cleanse the universe of weakness.
In the same manner, the Heirarchy is ruled tightly by the iron fist of its Emperor or Empress. The right hand of the Imperial Throne is the War Minister, a role which maintains nearly full control over the military might of the Heirarchy in the Imperial absence. Leaders within the Hierarchy must not show any perceived weakness, lest they be killed & replaced by an underling.
Scarran society is apparently divided into three castes, all of which can be found within the Hierarchy itself:
- The Ruling Order - the highest tier of Scarran society, home to the Emperor himself and all high-ranking nobles, including ministers of each respective branch as well as the captains of Scarran warships.
- Administrators - the middle tier of Scarran society is home to all functionaries, dignitaries, and scientists.
- Citizenry - the lowest tier of Scarran society is the citizenry themselves. Soldiers or any unranked civilians would find themselves here.
A fourth tier to Scarran society is applied to the various races that Scarrans have conquered or hired over the cycles such as the Charrid or the Kalish. Even a young Scarran soldier of the lowest rank is considered above such creatures.
Interestingly enough, the physical appearances of each caste differ enough to support the theory that each one is represented by a Scarran sub-species. Ruling Order Scarrans have a much flatter face, almost humanoid in appearance. The lowest cast is usually represented by a much more elongated face and skinnier gait, while the middle tier is nearly a balance between the other two. This change in appearance may be a side effect of the the Crystherium Utilia flower, given its use over generations to increase the intelligence of the Ruling Order.
