Hallucination-producing flies combined with telepathic directing by their creators, forcing the bitten victim to do remote-controlled actions. In episode 4.9, "A Prefect Murder" a guy called E'Alet uses these flies to force Aeryn Sun to kill one upcomming leader, Gaashah, and 16 other people around him. After this event she first couldn't remember the whole action, but with some concentration she could recall everything. Those bad bad flies even forced Aeryn and John to hold their weapons against each other, being forced by E'Alet. Only with the death of their host the spooky situation was over. In another situation, some campfire sitting, waiting and smoking also solved the problem.

The sgabba-flies seem to function different with species and their characters. Especially aggressive characters are easy to direct. People with less killer-instinct need a higher dose of injections or sgabba-fly-bites to be controlled.
